The module has four units, each of which will address different topics to be reviewed during our sessions.
For my project, I decided to focus on customer centricity, an essential concept in marketing, which I’ve taught before. The course consists of four units, and I began by writing a script for the video speech. After reviewing the script, I recorded the audio using the Voice Memos app on my phone and saved the files to my computer. I then searched for free electronic music tracks on Incompetech, choosing one that was dynamic and catchy to serve as the background soundtrack. To ensure everything would flow well, I previewed the soundtracks while reading through the script, which helped me decide on the right sequence for the music.
Next, I used DaVinci Resolve, the editing software I’m most familiar with, to import the audio and soundtrack files. I focused on getting the right sequence, frame cuts, and transitions, as these set the timing for the entire video. I balanced the voiceover and background music by adjusting the volume levels and trimming the clips. Once the audio was finalized, I sourced images from Unsplash and Freepik that matched the course units, saving them in subfolders for easy organization. I then placed the images into the timeline, timed them with the audio, and added transitions to enhance the message. The final video included 40 images, 13 text effects, 20 transition effects, and 6 songs. After reviewing the video and making final adjustments, I added credits and ensured the timing was perfect.
